You are part of the in” rel=”nofollow”>international strategic acquisitions team at your company–UPS. Work on the proposal for an acquisition
1) Opportunities for your company: Use a SWOT analysis to determin” rel=”nofollow”>ine the areas of potential acquisition and identify 3 suitable targets (not necessarily in” rel=”nofollow”>in the same in” rel=”nofollow”>industry)
2) Assessment: Chose the best target based on strategic fit (company’s current strategic goals and priorities, look at website: presentations and annual report), political risk (see chapter 10 and earlier work on political risk) and opportunity to acquire (ie company’s willin” rel=”nofollow”>ingness to sell or in” rel=”nofollow”>inability to block acquisition through public offerin” rel=”nofollow”>ing)
3) Recommend a negotiation strategy and early approach of the company based on ownership structure and company/national culture
