Critically analyse the following using relevant theories and workplace examples (note: students are encouraged to use their own workplace experiences and examples).
Conflict is a natural and arguably desirable part of today’s business environment. Provide insights into the nature and sources of conflict and provide support for a set of recommendations for building a trusting and collaborative environment that is supportive of functional rather than dysfunctional conflict.
A significant factor in the success of an organisation is its culture. Critically discuss the impact of culture on organisational performance. Is culture the cause or result of organisational performance? Drawing from the literature how can organisations ensure an ethical organisational culture?
Negotiation techniques and effective communication vary across cultures. What strategies can be employed to achieve the best outcomes from cross-cultural negotiations? Could one of these strategies include the development of cultural and/or emotional intelligence?
