Alex identifies as a vegetarian
I do not grade your grammar, as long as I can understand what you’re saying.
You don’t need to write a long answer for each question; a few sentences per question is sufficient.
Quizzes are graded on a 3-point scale:
3: outstanding, blows my mind, excellent
2: satisfactory, may contain some minor errors, overall pretty strong
1: big problems, major errors
0: did not complete, or did not answer the questions I asked
In class on Tuesday, May 15 I handed back the discussion goals assignment we completed in class during week 1. If I did not have a paper for you, it means you were not in class on the day we did the assignment, or that you were not enrolled yet. That’s okay. Just complete the assignment by setting a discussion goal for yourself for the rest of the term.
1. What was your original discussion goal? (Or, if you did not complete the original discussion goals assignment during week 1, what goal are you now setting for yourself for the rest of the term? Example: "My goal is to speak in class at least once per week.")
2. How do you feel about your progress toward this goal? Do you think you have been achieving it so far? Do you need to make any adjustments in order to reach your goal?
3. Write a short (2-3 sentence) response to the question at the end of the following scenario: Alex identifies as a vegetarian. Alex advocates for animal welfare and increased vegetarian options on campus. Most of the time, Alex eats vegetables, fruits, grains, and dairy. Every now and then, Alex eats a hamburger. Is Alex a vegetarian? Why or why not?
