Causes of Positive Change In Groups
Social workers need a firm understanding of the factors that help clients in treatment and counseling make positive changes. Usually specific aspects of a therapeutic modality relate to positive changes that clients make, and social workers must be able to apply these specific aspects of a modality in their work with clients in treatment groups. Review Reality Therapy in Appendix 1, Module 3, and Yalom, Figure 12.1, page 437, for two perspectives and modalities in working with groups to create positive change.
Write in detail about which factors or aspects you think help people with behavioral or emotional challenges to make positive changes while in treatment groups.
