Dementia with Lewy bodies (DLB)
PART 1: Essay plan
Construct an essay plan in preparation for writing the essay. Using current (less than 10 years old) scientific literature to support your writing, describe the major pathological changes that occur
in the brain of a person with the disease. Then describe the major clinical features that occur and relate them to the pathological changes.
Plan may be in dot points. You will need to include a reference list in APA format and use citations in your plan to demonstrate where your information comes from. You are required to include
five (5) current academic resources (journal articles or scholarly books) to support your writing.
350 words (excluding reference list).
Criterion 1 (15%) Selection of supporting resources and reference list in APA style
Criterion 2 (25%) Identify paragraphs that are relevant for an essay on the chosen topic
Criterion 3 (60%) Provide descriptions of paragraphs for an essay on the chosen topic using citations in APA style as appropriate
Write down some of the main topic ideas (i.e. single sentences) that relate to the question (hint: this topic asks you to discuss the MAJOR pathological changes and MAJOR clinical features of
your associated disease). These main topics will form the paragraphs of your essay (the body)
Once you’ve got some topic ideas, you can start expanding these to give more detail as to what will be included in the paragraph related to that topic. Please note that you do not need to actually
explain everything here, your essay plan can simply state what you endeavour to explain to the reader.
(hint: you need to include references; topic sentences for your paragraphs; and detail about your paragraph topics).
In essence, your final essay plan should be an outline of the body of your essay (you do not need to include information about your introduction or conclusion in your essay plan).
