Community, Culture and Intersectionality Professional Development Plan Part I: Code of Ethics
The goal of the Professional Development Plan is to 1) analyze aspects of professional ethical conduct, 2) articulate a specific area & areas of activism, and 3) Develop a professional plan for your career in this area. Part I will focus on aspects of professional ethics.
For this assignment you will complete a paper of no more than 3 pages (not including your cover page and reference page) with two sections/headings, as seen below. Please use these headings in your paper to delineate sections.
1) Ethical Conduct in Human Service Professions Explain professional ethics, ethical conduct, and why they are important in human service professions.
2) Analyze a Code Review the four Code of Ethics provided below. Which Code of Ethics best fits your professional plans? Describe your code and explain why you chose it. Discuss how your selected code could be used in addressing an ethical dilemma or conflict. • National Organization for Human Services is the umbrella organization that encompasses all human services professions. • National Council on Family Relations focuses on family life education. • National Association of Social Workers is for those specifically interested in social work. • National Association for the Education of Young Children focuses on children birth to age eight.
