Do you think the people who are in life or death situations should be accountable for their actions they took? If you were faced with a life or death situation and you did what was needed for you to survive. How would you feel if you had to take the responsibility for those actions? People in life or death situations would do whatever it would take to survive right? But do you think it is fair that they would have to be held accountable for those actions? I think that those people should not have to be punished for trying to survive. I feel that it’s not fair for them to have to be punished if they did what was needed. There are many people who have been in-prisoned due to certain situations. Even the ones who took the less extreme route to their safety have been punished. For example in one of the stories we have read “The Life Of A Sherpa” the sherpas are responsible to keep the climbers safe during the trip up and back down the mountain. But what if there’s one person who may think they know it all and can wander away from the group for a bit. That person is probably thinking that they’ll go back when they feel like it. Let’ stay while they’re gone they get hurt and nobody knew about it. So after the trip they notice that person is missing and the Sherpa gets in trouble for it since It was their responsibility to keep them safe. You can’t just prevent accidents, no matter what you do there’s always the risk of something going wrong. So there shouldn’t be the fear in the back of someone’s mind saying “oh no, I can’t call for help because I’ll get into trouble for it.” People should be able to rely on calling for help in dangerous situations it shouldn’t be something they need to consider doing. Everyday there’s people getting hurt over the little mistakes they made. But they learn from it and don’t do it again. So I feel it’s not the right thing to do to punish them for something they didn’t even plan on happening to themselves. There are some people who do crazy things that have many risks. But do you think that it’ s a very common thing to happen? Let’s stay it’s someone skydiving and the parachute doesn’t work. There’s a 1 in 1000 percent chance of your parachute failing. So if it fails and your badly injured do you think it’s fair for your instructor to go to jail? It’s something so unlikely to happen to a person. But it does happen, there is that 1 person of the 1000 others that it’d happen to. So why should the instructor or someone else be blamed and punished? They both signed a paper agreeing to the risks of jumping out of that plane. Yet someone needs to be punished right? But is it fair for them to be? Let’ think of the ones who go bungee jumping. Do you think their plan is to jump and have the cord break? No, they’re going to do it for fun then safely walk away after. There’s a 1 in 500,000 chance of that actua
