10-K Financial Report and Analysis

You can obtain this information from the following website by clicking on “Filings” on the menu bar at this link: https://www.sec.gov/edgar/searchedgar/companysearch.html The following are the guidelines for this project:
  • The company must sell a product, not a service. The company can be either a retailer or manufacturer of merchandise. No banks, investment companies, healthcare companies, restaurants, etc.
  • The company must be a U.S. based company (so the amounts are in dollars and the company complies with US GAAP).
  • Obtain the company’s Form 10-K for the most recent fiscal year available.
  • Prepare your answers to the questions below using Word.  Enumerate each answer according to the outline and include your interpretation of the information the company’s annual report discusses.  Include page references from the 10-K in your answers to the questions. Do not ‘cut/paste’ content from the 10-K as your answer.  Read through the report to obtain answers to the questions but express responses to the questions in your own words. Provide your answers in a well-written narrative style.
  • You may use graphs, tables and charts if needed for clarity. If discussing dollar amounts, use appropriate symbols and notation. If comparing dollar totals, use schedules or tables rather than lengthy narratives.  Be kind to your reader and provide a well-organized document with clarity and conciseness.  Length of papers should be no less than five pages and nor more than ten pages. Your report should have a cover page (name, course, title of report).
