Attend a Group and Session Experience Reflection
As the final assignment in the Group modules, you will be attending a group session of your choosing (one that you are not already a part of and will not continue to be part of - you are an observer). You should attend either a self-help or ongoing group in the community one time, and ideally, you will pick a group that you are invested in.
Examples of where to find a group:

Psychology Today in NJ: https://www.psychologytoday.com/us/groups/new-jerseyLinks to an external site.
Alternatively you can choose a task group such as a town hall or school board meeting, or you can attend an online group meeting for some examples of such online therapeutic groups see https://www.mhanational.org/find-support-groups
Once you attend this group session, please write a 2-3 page response in which you address the following:
Describe the background and history of the group
What is the purpose of this group?
Is it a Treatment or Task a group?
Describe the physical surroundings of the group. What type of building/location is it hosted in? Is the room decorated? Is there coffee?
Is it online, and if so, how do they manage participation (is there hand-raising, a queue, etc.) and what platform is it hosted on (e.g. Zoom)? Do they have to show their pictures/faces?
Does the group you attended subscribe to a particular theory?
If no theory is explicitly stated, using the theories learned in these modules, identify which one you think best represents the group you attended.
