A Plan of Action and Milestones (POA&M) is an action plan template originally developed by the US Government, but now widely used by a variety of organizations because of its ease of use and flexibility. Requirements for this assignment: Review the description of an action plan on p. 242 of Moseley. Then, in essay format: a) explain in your own words why each of the criteria listed below are important to strategic planning, and b) describe a few examples of specific projects in the field of healthcare where a POA&M might be a useful strategic planning tool. Use essay format for this requirement and remember to cite your source(s) in APA format (see APA Guidelines provided in the course Table of Contents). Enter the objectives/goals, metrics, and activities provided in Table 9.1 on pages 243-244 of the text to the appropriate areas of your POA&M table. Note - the Objectives/Goals and Metrics are provided on page 243, and the specific activities are provided on page 244. You will have to use your best judgment / imagination to complete cells that require information not provided in Table 9.1 - such as start date, due date, and point of contact (POC). Do not schedule individual activities by "weeks" as listed in Table 9.1, but convert this information in your POA&M table to actual start and due dates.Make sure to include the overall metrics included at the bottom of page 243, however you might also consider adding the specific metrics you will use to measure your progress on each objective/goal listed in your table. This could be added through an additional column or in the Remarks column.
