Drawing from the material we covered this semester and your ideas, design a recommendation for a
country transitioning to democracy. This assignment is not a recommendation for a single actual country,
but rather a plan applicable in any country undergoing a transition. In turn, consider whether a country’s
socio-economic diversity or geographic size should factor into the recommendations. In other words, is
there a one-size fits all plan that all aspiring democracies should follow or should there for example be one
plan for big countries andM another for smaller countries? In addition to any original recommendations
you may have, the bulk of your essay should recommend particular electoral
(Plurality/TRS/PR/Mixed/Preferential), governmental(Presidential/Parliamentary/Semi-Presidential), and
political (federal or unitary) systems while weighing the pros and cons of each.
