A Sociological Response to Inequality

  The way that sociologists understand inequality is often profoundly different from the common conversations we hear around us from the news, our parents and friends, or in our community organizations. While you don’t need to adopt these sociological approaches to inequality, it is important for you to understand them and compare them to some of common beliefs about inequality in this country. Doing so can help you develop and shape your own beliefs about inequality, and if you happen to like the sociological perspective, this exercise can help you practice explaining it to other people!   “How would a sociologist respond to this?”
