In Chapter 6 of his text, Rolheiser begins some discussions on various "Key Spiritualities" within Christian
Spirituality. This chapter often generates much discussion because of the points he brings up, and because
many in the younger generations (especially the Millennial Generation) simply do not go to church, nor do
they feel a need for church, or the need to be a member of a Church. They don't feel the need to worship in
community. Most of them say that they are "spiritual" but not "religious.”
Chapter 6 discusses ECCLESIOLOGY, or the study and idea of Church community and structure. He says
that many people are moving away from church, or don't feel a need for church, and that they have
"divorced" their personal spirituality from church community. He then gives 5 images of church, and 9
 reasons to go to church.
 Please respond:
 1) Whether or not you are Catholic, Which image of church speaks to you the most? Which do you agree
 with?
 2) Do you go to Church? What church? Why or why not?
 3) Which reason(s) to go to Church (that he presents) make(s) the most sense to you and why?
4)Why do you think Ecclesiology is an important point as we talk about Christian spirituality and the spint of
charity? Why or why not? Explain in depth.
