Most Americans today believe democracy is a good thing. Most of the men who wrote the 1787
Constitution, however, believed that “too much democracy” was a bad thing. How does this make any sense? If
democracy is a good thing…how, then, could there be too much of it? How would the men who wrote the
Constitution have answered this question? What, according to them, were the “excesses of democracy?”
- Include two exact (word-for-word) quotes from different pages of the textbook OR one exact (word-for-word)
quote from the textbook and one exact (word-for-word) quote from a primary source or Supplemental
Resource. Each quote must support your argument. In other words, each source should explicitly help you to answer the Essential Question. - Include one map, chart, graph, or image.
IMPORTANT: It is NOT enough to simply embed a map, chart, graph, and/or image in your Answer. You must explicitly reference the map, chart, graph, or image in your Answer. Explain how it helps you to answer the question that has been asked.
