Analysis of websites – Padawer

Research FAU’s position (and initiatives) on transgender rights, and that of another university in Florida, and compare them to the progress made by Wellesley College and to the information provided in the NCTE (National Center for Transgender Equality) website. Write a paper in which you assess the progress of Florida institutions and their student bodies, in relation to the initiatives taken by Wellesley College outlined in Padawer’s essay. Consider whether mixed-gender institutions address transgender rights differently from women’s colleges. Assess the implications of a more fluid conception of gender on education, using the ideas from Padawer’s essay and your Internet research. Evaluate the status of trans initiatives in Florida universities, and formulate ways to improve acceptance and equality on our campuses.
