Application of the Chain of Infection

    Part 1: Select a micro-organism from the following list to apply the Cycle of Infection: Streptococcus pneumoniae Clostridium difficile Esherichia Coli Mycobacterium tuberculosis Human Immunodeficiency Virus (HIV) Rhinovirus Influenza Part 2: Describe the structure and function of the micro-organism in detail (i.e., size, shape, composition, microbiological identification procedures). Part 3: Apply the "Cycle of Infection" concept for the micro-organism selected above in relation to a situation that could be encountered in either Nursing or Kinesiology. Include an explanation of how the cycle could be broken/disrupted at each stage of the cycle.
