Argumentative Research Essay

In an argumentative essay of about 1000-1200 words (4-6 double-spaced pages), develop
an argument about one of the following topics. You can choose to either agree or
disagree with the statement as it is presented. Read the article associated with the topic
you select, and you use it as evidence to assist you in building your case.
Each topic includes an opinion piece that takes a stand on the issue being presented. It is
your job to craft a focused, finely-honed argument that responds to the position of the
writer. You may choose to agree or disagree. What is most important is that you expand
on the ideas being presented and come up with your own argument. This means
developing a specific, manageable, and interesting thesis related to the topic.
You will need to use four academic articles to support your claim, in addition to the
opinion piece. The articles should come from your annotated bibliography. All sources
must be cited correctly both in-text and in the final references or works cited page. Stick
to one citation style (APA or MLA). Full citations for each article in both styles appear after each individual topic.
