Art in Communities
Now that you've seen some ways that visual art impacts community, how has your perception of art's role in our lives changed and/or been affirmed? Use a specific and compelling example from OUTSIDE the readings or your personal experience to support your answer. In your opinion, what is the most powerful feature of communal art that drives people to engage with it and create value within their communities? Finally, we've seen accounts of iconoclasm (the destruction of images) since the beginning of recorded history — a monumental testament to the power of images and art. Conduct an Internet scavenger hunt on a work of art that has been attacked or destroyed, share the image or a link on your post, and explain what within a community it was meant to damage or destroy.
