Using the vocabulary terms that we learned about in Unit 1 and Unit 2, chose one of the pictures from any chapter in your textbook and describe the artwork in full detail.
You can also use Google Arts & Culture to find an artwork. I have a link to this on the home page. (Google Arts & Culture) This is a great resource since it lets you zoom in and out of an artwork, from the closest detail all the way back to seeing the piece in a physical space. You can look around many museums around the world.
Your answer should include BOTH of the following
- A description of ALL the visual elements used in the artwork (line, shape, space, texture, and color)
- A description of the ALL principles of composition used in the artwork (unity, balance, variety, rhythm, emphasis, and proportion)
Look at the image labels as well. What is the piece made of? What size is it?
