The program design project provides experience in administering athletic performance tests and designing a training program to meet the goals and needs of an athlete. You must design an off-season, preseason, in-season, and postseason resistance and/or endurance training program for the athlete. Areas of emphasis for the evaluation of the program will include (a) selection of appropriate performance tests, (b) selection of appropriate program design variables for resistance training (exercise selection, training frequency, exercise order, training load and repetitions, volume, and rest periods), and (c) appropriate rationale for each selection.
- Introduction
Introduction of athlete and thorough profile of athlete's experience, training, age , gender, body composition, etc.
Include the training status, background and exercise history of the athlete
2.Needs Analysis
Thorough evaluation of the sport including season length, biomechanical movement analysis, physiological analysis, injury analysis and metabolic energy specifications for the sport.
Identify and justify the appropriate assessments for the athlete and compare the results to normative or descriptive data to determine strengths and weaknesses
Evaluation of athlete's strength, flexibility, power, speed, muscular endurance, body composition, and cardio vascular endurance.
Identify the needs and goals from the assessment data - Off Season Macrocycle
Thoroughly identify and explain exercise selection training frequency, exercise order , training load and reps, volume recovery time and provide tables depicting the mesocyclones within the macrocycle.
4.Pre Season Macrocycle
Thoroughly identify and explain exercise selection training frequency, exercise order , training load and reps, volume recovery time and provide tables depicting the mesocyclones within the macrocycle. - In-Season Macrocycle
Thoroughly identify and explain exercise selection training frequency, exercise order , training load and reps, volume recovery time and provide tables depicting the mesocyclones within the macrocycle. - Post Season
Thoroughly identify and explain exercise selection training frequency, exercise order , training load and reps, volume recovery time and provide tables depicting the mesocyclones within the macrocycle.
