Build a planned giving program for a nonprofit organization

You are the development officer(s) of a charitable organization, and the organization has a new president. The new president has indicated that building a planned giving program is a priority. Your organization has been in operation for ten years and raises over $1 million per year, mostly from foundations and government sources. You are about to undertake an annual campaign effort to obtain gifts from individuals in order to build a substantial donor base. There was a small capital campaign ten years ago before you worked there that raised $1 million from corporate, foundation and individual donors. Your board agrees with the new president that you must establish a planned giving program now in order to compete with other organizations for current and deferred gifts.
