I would only suggest researching only 2 food banks in GTA: Daily Food Bank & Guelph Food Bank. If you
find something better then go ahead but the reason I'm saying these cause they have successful food banks
process.
also, we are helping OFB with a their new warehouse and how I can implement a better process of order
picking/customization and how they can inventory products and what's the easier way of doing things.
Here is project scope as well:
By understanding the current facility layout, different process maps will be implemented such as value and non-value added activities. This will be done by mapping the current processes within the warehouse operations and looking at the physical movement of goods. We will be assisting the foodbank with a new warehouse by implementing a new systematic approach using Microsoft Dynamics. Implement a new inventory process in the warehouse so it’s easier to navigate products and document what comes in and out of the warehouse. Volunteers and employees will be required to have food and safety certifications
(WHIMS & WSIB). We will also be looking at other food banks around the GTA and implement their best practices into ours to achieve higher efficiency.
