Case briefs on contract law

Using Westlaw, Lexis, Google or other internet search engines, find 5 cases, on 5 different areas of contract law, which may include: unconscionable contracts; unenforceable contracts, e.g., contracts with a minor or with someone who is mentally incapacitated; fraud, duress, etc.; Statute of Frauds; restitution as a separate cause of action; expectation, reliance or restitution damages; ambiguities; impossibility or impracticability of performance; terminated duty; UCC Article 2; third party interests; or any other contracts related area.

  1. Prepare case briefs for the 5 cases, using any acceptable format or ones provided by the instructor in Canvas.
  2. Case briefs must not exceed one typewritten page in length with top, bottom and side margins set at 1 inch. Font size cannot be less than 11.
  3. A cover sheet must be attached, and include the following: (1) course name; (2) course number: (3) semester (Spring 2015); (4) student’s name; (5) instructor’s name; and the case names and citations (including the year the case was decided), all centered on the page.
  4. Projects must be submitted online through a Canvas Dropbox.
  5. Total pages in the project shall not exceed 10.
  6. Each brief will be worth 5 points for a total of 25 points (see
    grading rubric below).
