Each student will select a Celebrity of their own choosing who has had an addiction problem whether alcohol/drug or other
addictions/obsessions such as gambling, eating, dieting, shopping, sex etc. Students are to read
about and research the addiction of their celebrity and how it has affected the celebrity’s
biological/psychological/sociological life. You will also discuss addiction treatments/approaches that
were undertaken and or suggest possible treatments/approaches that they could have taken.
Summarize all of this in a 3 to 4 page double spaced paper. Select appropriate works ( at least 3 published articles/books) to describe, discuss your celebrity’s addiction. The articles can come from
any primary source in circulation like: Newsday, New York Times, Washington Post, Times Magazine,
and Newsweek (etc.).
