Changing ethics

I do believe that ethics change over time. Certainly this article talks about ethics changing and has good examples, in general. http://www.rationalimmigration.com/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=265:do-ethics-change&catid=42:latest-news&Itemid=80
For this week try to imagine 20 years would how ethics could change for the role of the emergency manager. Give one example and state why you believe things would change. For example if you think that we are going to move to a limited government that maybe ethically the Federal Govemment would have to train and empower local and NGO to support disaster or if you think that EM will focus more on disadvantaged and protected populations as a core service? No right or wrong answer, however you to guess where our society is heading and how that impacts the EM field. two reference after this page
PAGE two week 8 discussion Evaluation of ethics was the topic this week. There are some tools out there to assist, one I found on ACHE site for medical staff and one here: https://www. psychologytoday.co mitests/career/integrity-a nd-work-ethics-test
Of course if you take an exam that would be very personal information so you don't want to share too deeply on your specific evaluations if you take them. However this week discuss ideas on: 1. How you find out the ethical codes in your organization. 2. How does one align themselves with the standards? 3. What do you do if your standards are higher or the organization places you in conflict with your own standards. two references after this 2nd page.
