Directly on your poetry packet, continue adding extensive annotations; I might use a different color pen to distinguish your new remarks with the essay in mind. Your
goal is to have at least one observation per 1-2 lines of poetry; more than that is recommended. You don’t have to write complete sentences in your annotations, but do
signal any potential inferences you want to make about your textual observations. Don’t worry too much about connecting all of your observations to “pleasure” at this
point; any careful responses to the poems will aid your understanding and therefore help you develop a set of interpretations
