Cities of Vesuvius: Pompeii and Herculaneum

The following three questions need to be answered in the essay;

  1. What does the site reveal about the following aspects of life in Pompeii or Herculaneum? (What does the site, and artefacts : written or archaeological, found a the site tell us about any of these aspects of Campanian life?) eg - - Economy - Social class: men, women, freedmen slaves - local political life: decuriones, magistrates, comitium - Everyday Life: housing, food and dining, leisure activities - Religion: household gods, temples - Influence of Greek and Egyptian cultures: art and Archit​‌‍‍‍‌‍‍‌‍‌‌‍‍‍‌‍‌‌‌‍​ecture (not all of these are need to be covered)
  2. What have new research and technological advancements done to change historians interpretations of the evidence/site over time? 3. What is being done to conserve or reconstruct this site, and who is contributing to this? Student is to present research based on evidence, in an essay form. Student must correctly reference work with footnotes and must provide a bibliography. (And draw conclusions based on the Sources found at the site, along with historians/archaeologists where possible).
