Clinical Theory

 This research-based paper represents your clin" rel="nofollow">inical journey as a MA Psychology, Counselin" rel="nofollow">ing Specialization student, offerin" rel="nofollow">ing to the reader your resultant personal theory of counselin" rel="nofollow">ing. This theory should be an in" rel="nofollow">integration of the various theories presented in" rel="nofollow">in curriculum blended with your own ideas of ethical and skilled practice. The paper should reflect your personal lens on ideally, what practice in" rel="nofollow">in the chair could look like. After two years of theoretical curriculum, experiential learnin" rel="nofollow">ing and in" rel="nofollow">internship, we are in" rel="nofollow">interested in" rel="nofollow">in how you are shapin" rel="nofollow">ing your own unique perspective about psychotherapy and how change comes about in" rel="nofollow">in the therapeutic relationship. The ideas you present in" rel="nofollow">in your paper should be cohesive and coherent. Questions 1 What are specific ideas from the primary theoretical models we have studied ( Bowen, Narrative Therapy, Structural Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Solution Focused Therapy.) that you fin" rel="nofollow">ind especially useful as resources while developin" rel="nofollow">ing your personal theory of counselin" rel="nofollow">ing? Why? What ideas from these models do you not fin" rel="nofollow">ind particularly useful? Are critical of? Why? (In respondin" rel="nofollow">ing to this and the next question, please do not simply summarize the theories we have studied.) Be sure to in" rel="nofollow">include clin" rel="nofollow">inical examples to support your position. 2 What ideas or methods of psychotherapy from models outside of the ones we have studied in" rel="nofollow">in this program will you in" rel="nofollow">incorporate in" rel="nofollow">into your own theory of counselin" rel="nofollow">ing? Please in" rel="nofollow">include and reference any models you want to discuss. 3 What is central to your theory of psychotherapy regardin" rel="nofollow">ing the therapeutic relationship and the process of change?
