Commodification of BDSM

Is the commodification of BDSM normalizing sexual deviance?

Compose an essay on a topic related to crime and consumerism of your own choosing of no more than
4,000 words. You should compose the question yourself.
Your topic must be related to something we have covered in the module. The aim is to provide you with a lot of
flexibility to pursue a topic you have an interest in, as this is always how students achieve the highest marks.
Your essay could address a crime phenomenon concerning consumerism (such as counterfeit fashion, or drug
consumption); you could analyze a particular case study drawing on theoretical perspectives (such as cultural
criminology) covered in the module; or you could examine the consumption of representations of crime. You
could also evaluate theoretical work on crime and consumerism.
