Compare how the official “President of the United States” account (@POTUS) and President Trump’s “personal” Twitter account (@realDonaldTrump) have used Twitter to communicate with the public sin" rel="nofollow">ince 20 January 2017. How do these two accounts use evaluative language to position themselves in" rel="nofollow">in relation to particular ‘imagin" rel="nofollow">ined audiences’? Even though both accounts represent the same person, you will fin" rel="nofollow">ind they do so in" rel="nofollow">in different ways. Collect and analyse at least 50 tweets (e.g. 25 from @POTUS and 25 from @realDonaldTrump) usin" rel="nofollow">ing the model of appraisal (opin" rel="nofollow">inion and sentiment in" rel="nofollow">in communication) that we have covered in" rel="nofollow">in the lectures. Use this analysis to explore the kin" rel="nofollow">inds of in" rel="nofollow">interpersonal meanin" rel="nofollow">ings that the “President of the United States’” and “President Donald Trump” construe in" rel="nofollow">in their Twitter communication.
