Your CEO would like to research the products of the competition. With your familiarity with social media, you suggest an analysis of # (hashtags) to determine the popularity of the products, as well as determine the amount of likes the products can get within a certain period.
Requirements: Define the type of company you work for and the product to be compared with the competition. Using www.hashtracking.com, keyhole.co, or www.followthehashtag.com (sign up for the free trial, which lasts 30 days), research FOUR different products/people (as brands)or brands. HINT: since you want to research your competition, you will need to research 4 products/people (as brands)/or brands in the SAME industry as the company you work for. Report the figures you come up with (ex. total posts, users, impressions, reach. demographics, etc.), and describe the
period of these figures (it has to be specific, ex. 1-10 July).
Using Instagram (Iconosquare) or Twitter, take a screen shot of the 4(hashtags) you chose to analyze, and determine for each of the 4 products/people (as brands)or brands you selected:
1) demographics (ex. sex, age, country)
2) spending capacity
3) setting (ex. What is in the picture?, What is the feeling?, Is there a pattern in the composition?, etc.)
4) average amount of likes per 20 photos for the 4 products/people (as brands)/ or brands you selected
5) average amount of comments per 20 photos for the 4 products/people (as brands)/ or brands you selected.
In addition, make sure to include images from www.hashtracking.com, keyhole.co, www.followthehastag.com, Instagram, Twitter, or Ilconosquare
(which ever you decide to use), supporting your data. The images can be included in the document. or can be attached separately.
Lastly, you would want to point out what could the company you work for learn from your analysis, and how/why could any of the things that the competition does good/bad be beneficial to you (specific things like demographics, settings, etc.).
