You can look at how Fox News, The Washington Post and the Toronto Star cover the issue. Where are the commonalities and where are the differences? Are bias on the part of the news outlet clear (don’t go by reputation)? What are the biases?
If you are examining a Canadian issue or event (like the federal election), then be especially careful of using foreign sources – there is a good chance they are republishing an article of video from a Canadian media outlet. One clue is who is credited as the author.
