Go to http://www.feminist.org/. Scroll down until you see Feminist Daily Newswire on the let side of screen. Ignore ads and sign-ups. Take a look at the various buttons on the left side of the screen and answer the following questions.
- Judging from the kinds of issues represented on this site, do you think the Feminist Majority Foundation is closer to liberal feminism or radical feminism? Why?
- Click on the tab across the top that says “Get Involved" Which initiatives do you support and which ones do you oppose? Why?
- What would a socialist feminist or an intersectionality theorist think about the site’s advocacy of these issues?
- How many of the initiatives listed here are international or global in scope?
In the chapter on Contemporary Feminist Theory (Ch. 12) there is a section titled "Intersectionality Theory".
- Discuss the major figures and ideas associated with Intersectionality Theory. Make sure to include Patricia Hill Collins, 6. Crenshaw, 7. Sojourner Truth. (I put this part as 3 questions)
Pay particular attend to Collins both in the Biographical Sketch and the text of the section as well as the power point notes. - What is the connection to Women in Early Sociology pps. 204-205 in text.
- Is there a connection between Feminist Theory and Queer Theory (Chapter 18 pps. 665-671? Briefly explain why or why not.
