Part One: One simple sentence for each of these requirements. Line One: write who wrote the document. Line Two: why was the document produced? Line Three: what does the document tell one about the U.S. at that time (don't talk about the future here)?

Part Two:
This is the most important portion of the assignment. You need to write a minimum of 250 words describing the historical significance of the document (that is the equivalent of one double spaced type written page). We can all read what a document says. Simply repeating what was said will result in no points awarded. It is your job to explain why it was and is important. Why should we care? How does it fit into American history at that time. Again, a book report style answer of listing simply what it says will not count. You must make an argument as to why it is important and what the historical significance is. Do not write about the future. This portion is worth 6 points
