Cross-Cultural Incident Assignment Order Description Your task is to describe, propose causes and analyse an actual cross-cultural clash in" rel="nofollow">incident from your own experience or vicariously. The task is not simply a descriptive exercise! You must then conduct academic research to analyse the cross-cultural clash and the nature or underlyin" rel="nofollow">ing reasons for the clash by usin" rel="nofollow">ing appropriate theories and/or frameworks relevant to the course. Assignment (4 parts) 1) In writin" rel="nofollow">ing describe a significant in" rel="nofollow">incident from your own experience (or vicariously) in" rel="nofollow">involvin" rel="nofollow">ing a cross-cultural clash between two or more in" rel="nofollow">individuals from different cultures, which has left Person A with the question “what happened?” Write in" rel="nofollow">in the third person, be creative. The in" rel="nofollow">incident (Part-1) should not be more than 500 words. The in" rel="nofollow">incident should have the followin" rel="nofollow">ing criteria: i) At least one of the in" rel="nofollow">individuals held an erroneous assumption about the culture of other in" rel="nofollow">individual(s) (both in" rel="nofollow">individuals can have erroneous assumptions), and proceeded to say or do somethin" rel="nofollow">ing that was culturally in" rel="nofollow">incorrect. ii) The mistaken behaviour of the first person (Person A) was followed by a response from the person(s) of the second culture (Person B, can be more than one in" rel="nofollow">individual) which was not understood by the first person (Person A) and which he or she found disconcertin" rel="nofollow">ing or upsettin" rel="nofollow">ing, wonderin" rel="nofollow">ing what has happened. 2) Provide 4 possible and logical explanations for why the in" rel="nofollow">incident occurred, with one bein" rel="nofollow">ing the best explanation (most probable) for the cross-cultural clash. Compose each of the possible explanations carefully, and attempt to render each one superficially plausible. Each of the 4 possible explanations should not exceed 75 words, thus this Part-2 should not exceed 300 words in" rel="nofollow">in total. 3) Based on academic research and facts provide a comprehensive cross-cultural analysis of the in" rel="nofollow">incident, which explain" rel="nofollow">ins the behaviours you described from both person’s perspectives (Person A and Person B), by usin" rel="nofollow">ing appropriate theories and/or frameworks relevant to the course. I.e., this explain" rel="nofollow">ins why the cross-cultural clash occurred. Limit this Part-3 to no more than 1000 words. 4) Write 4 short paragraphs about each of the 4 possible explanations, based on academic research and facts showin" rel="nofollow">ing why one answer is the correct or best answer and why the other three answers are not correct. Note, that the short paragraph that provides the rationale for the best/correct answer can be similar to part 3 above; i.e., one that explain" rel="nofollow">ins why the cross cultural clash occurred. Each of the 4 rationale should not exceed 150 words. Alternatively, you can make the “best answer” explanation longer and the other 3 shorter, but Part-4 should not exceed 600 words in" rel="nofollow">in total.
