Describe – What is the outcome you want – Use factual information

Express – Remember using “I” statements versus “You” statements. ““You” statements may likely provoke defensiveness.
Assert – Be assertive, but not aggressive. Avoid threatening or consequential types of commentary “Do this…. or else…”. Say “No” to unreasonable requests.
Reinforce – Reinforce why is the outcome desired and why would the person you are communicating with benefit or comply with what is being asked.
