Deaths related to texting and driving by teenagers
Deaths related to texting and driving by teenagers
The objective of the Research
This study aims to establish the rate of deaths associated with driving and texting by teenagers.
Research Questions
i. Why do teenagers like texting while driving?
ii. How can texting while driving among the teenagers be controlled?
iii. What are the impacts of deaths caused by texting while driving among teenagers?
Variables
Understanding the underlying variables help the researcher in identifying the impacts of the accidents and possible solutions to the problem as also noted by Bergmark, Gliklich, Guo, and Gliklich (2016). Dependent variables are caused by independent variables hence creating the need to examine the separate types of variables with the aim of establishing the mechanisms that can be embraced to tame the independent factors.
Dependent Variables Independent Variables
The nature of accidents Texting
The number of deaths Speed
Driving experience Age
Type of Data
Interval data will be collected where a scale will be used to determine the number of fatalities cased on various types of roads. The practice will also play a significant role in classifying the age bracket where individuals are prone to causing accidents due to texting and driving as noted by Liao (2017). Using such type of data will help in collecting accurate figures as compared to other mechanisms like the ordinal and nominal data. The number of deaths can also be recorded using intervals depending on the responses provided by the participants.
Data Analysis Technique
A qualitative approach will be used whereby various participants will be interviewed. According to Gaber and Gaber (2018), the move is designed to collect and analyze the number of deaths recorded within a specified period with the aim of understanding the impacts of texting while driving among teenagers.
