  Democracy   Democracy Requirements: *1000-1400 words. As always, I won’t count your words. This is, however, a good indication of the depth of development that is required. If your essay is short of 1000 words, don’t simply add unnecessary words until you reach 1000, look for places where your argument could use more support or explanation. *Correct MLA format throughout (heading, in-text and end-text citations) *Thesis-driven: As with Essay #1, this essay should be organized around a focused thesis. Remember: a good thesis is: assertive (your opinion), arguable (an opinion that is reasonable and not too obvious), and narrow enough to fully develop in 1000 words. *At least THREE sources, including at least one opposing source. You have to refute the opposing source. Simply identifying an opposing position is insufficient; you have to explain why your position is better.
