Propelled by the growth of events such as the Perth Festival, Fringe World and the Perth International
Comedy Festival, performancebased arts projects are currently experiencing a level of success at a local
and global level not yet seen before. Underpinned by a strong local economy, local artists who
previously left Western Australia for the Eastern states or abroad are encouraged to develop their work
on home soil with funding from state and federal government organisations as well as private
philanthropy. Local audiences have higher levels of disposable income than in previous years and are
keen to spend their entertainment dollars supporting local performances.
TASK
Your task is to pick a local performance and design the event collateral. Ideally it will be a performance
you can attend in person to conduct some primary research into the project that you are designing for.
The first step is to write a design brief for the chosen show. Ideally you will pick a show you are familiar
with (something you have seen recently, or something you are planning on seeing in the near future).
You will need to complete the Design Brief Template. You will need to do good research on shows and have
the ability to analyse it along with images
