"Marx thinks that under present social/political conditions, the individual (worker) becomes merely an “appendage of the machine.” Mill thinks that under present social/political conditions, the individual become increasingly conformist and that there is less individuality. Nietzsche thinks that under present social/political conditions, most, if not all, individuals partake of what he calls “slave morality.” In your essay consider: a: why each of them think what they do about individuals in society (i.e. what, by their analysis, gives rise to it); b: what each of them think might be a remedy for this situation (if they think there is one). Finally, but only if you have space, indicate which thinker you find yourself most sympathetic to and why.
