Diversity,a challenge and an opportunity for employers.

Diversity presents both a challenge and an opportunity for employers. This
discussion invites us to think about what employees from different groups need from their
managers/organizations to be effective, and the advantages of hiring and supporting
different groups of employees. Think about each of the following groups in the workforce:
Racial minorities Working women LGBTQI persons People with disabilities Veterans
Immigrants Elder care givers (taking care of parents) Parents of children under 15
Younger people (millennial’s or younger) Older people (baby boomers or older) Pick any
four of the above groups and respond to the following questions: What can they add to
the organization that should make employers want to hire them and provide that support?
What special skills, knowledge, or attributes do they have? What do they need? What
kinds of support would they like from their managers and organizations? What specific
benefits, policies, and management approaches would the groups you identified find
most helpful? Borrowing from your class readings and external research, and based on
your insight from responding to the questions above, what recommendations would you
give to your current organization for improving its diversity and inclusion practices for the
