Early Sport Specialization vs. Risks for Injuries : Review of Literature
Order Description
Assignment #2 Research Question and Review of the Literature
Assignment #2 consists of the first two chapters of your research project. It will consist of three to five new pages added to the work that you submitted in" rel="nofollow">in your previous assignment.
Chapter 1 comes directly from Assignment #1, where you described your problem and identified your research question. It is titled: Statement of the Problem. Use your in" rel="nofollow">instructor’s feedback on that
assignment to make any necessary improvements in" rel="nofollow">in the paper. Make certain" rel="nofollow">in that your research question is clearly identified as such so that the reader knows exactly what question you are goin" rel="nofollow">ing to
answer or hypothesis that you are goin" rel="nofollow">ing to prove. It should be concise, focused and measurable.
Chapter 2 consists of your Review of the Literature. Incorporate the research you’ve read to support your idea or question. You are tryin" rel="nofollow">ing to present the current thin" rel="nofollow">inkin" rel="nofollow">ing in" rel="nofollow">in your field on the topic
that you have chosen. A strong study will have opposin" rel="nofollow">ing viewpoin" rel="nofollow">ints regardin" rel="nofollow">ing your question. This is why a study is needed in" rel="nofollow">in order to answer the question. A sound researcher recognizes that there
are two sides to an argument; present them evenly and without bias. You may also fin" rel="nofollow">ind research that proves or disproves a theory in" rel="nofollow">in a different settin" rel="nofollow">ing and you want to see if it applies in" rel="nofollow">in your
settin" rel="nofollow">ing. You are tryin" rel="nofollow">ing to establish a basis of your knowledge and demonstrate the depth of your understandin" rel="nofollow">ing about your topic. You must in" rel="nofollow">include at least 5 reliable, scholarly sources in" rel="nofollow">in this
chapter.
Include a brief closin" rel="nofollow">ing paragraph that summarizes the fin" rel="nofollow">indin" rel="nofollow">ings of the Review and how this in" rel="nofollow">information creates the need for your study.
Add these studies to your reference section at the end of the paper. Include ideas expressed in" rel="nofollow">in the readin" rel="nofollow">ings and use them in" rel="nofollow">in your discussion, e.g. “static stretchin" rel="nofollow">ing before in" rel="nofollow">intense exercise is
found to be very effective in" rel="nofollow">in reducin" rel="nofollow">ing in" rel="nofollow">injuries” (Maddox, 2006, p. 24). (This is an example of an in" rel="nofollow">in-text quotation, less than 40 words). Do not in" rel="nofollow">include references from proprietary web sources,
mass publication magazin" rel="nofollow">ines or other non-academic materials. Use the CUI library portal and SportDiscus as your most reliable source of in" rel="nofollow">information. When conductin" rel="nofollow">ing your searches through SportDiscus
you may check a preference in" rel="nofollow">in the column on the left that limits searches to academic journals.
