Watch the movie: "The Greening of Planet Earth Continues (1998)" available at: https://www.youtube.comiwatch?v=27XbnyWC5WM 3. Make a list of unsound scientific statements about the: (i) science of global warming; (ii) the future projections; (iii) the costs of reducing anthropogenic climate change, and; (iv) the impacts of anthropogenic greenhouse gas emissions. (Please refer to the discussion in class and the lecture notes if you are unclear about how to interpret this). 4. Explain in your own words why the claim is not a sound scientific statement. This needs to be specific. If you claim that the statement is factually wrong, then you need to supply evidence for your counterclaim (for example, a citation).
Grading: 1. You will get a minimum of 10 points just for handing in a reasonable try. 2. You will gain 10 points for each unsound statement in the video that you correctly identify. For each statement that you wrongly identify as an unsound scientific statement, you will lose 10 points. 3. You can get a maximum of 110 points. There are more than 10 unsound statements in the movie, but one has to stop at some point.
