Analyze the impact of social movements and economic ideas that contributed to the Great Depression by formulating questions and addressing these questions through historical research and study to evaluate historical events and their impact.

2.Gorgias Plato

In paragraphs 481b- 491b of Gorgias, Callicles attempted to argue how it′s ″natural″ that the ″strong″ should rule and the weak should be opressed. Show exact examples from text 1. Demonstrate and explain from the text how socrates shows the weakness in Callicles′ argument by showing how his words are 1) confused, 2) inconsistent, and 3) contradictory? 2. In gorgias 500b-513b, socrates makes clear connection between goodness, order and self-control. Demonstrate and explain from text using examples from text: 1) how socrates argues that goodness requires a kind of order and, in order to attain order, one must have knowledge (not merely do what feels good). 2) Explain socrates′ argument that, if order is good, self-control is desirable. 3. What teaching of plato do you believe is most important for todays culture to rediscover and why?
