As you read the textbook, you selected any six essential classroom management instruction strategies that align with your teaching style, your student population and your school. Now you will use that information to complete the following assignment:

  1. Transcribe your six strategies into your Data Grid document on the first left hand column. Data grid document link is listed here: M3 CRM

  2. Talk with any four teachers at your school, discussing your data grid-the six strategies you selected. Use one column for each teacher and document their responses regarding the use of each strategy. If you are not teaching or school is out of session, talk with four friends or colleagues and record their responses.
  3. Analyze and synthesize your Data Grid results (from four teachers) with your personal preferences to determine a AVID Hierarchical Order of Importance Document. Hierarchy Document displays the most important social behaviors working down to the least important. Each layer is documented with several supporting sentences. An example can be found

In essence reflective teaching implies assessing and documenting its efficacy. In addition reflective practices are a central piece to the NC Teaching Standards.Directions:
    Post your reflection to the discussion board to include these components:
  • Share your experiences learned through your discussions with four teachers or colleagues.
  • Share your conclusions about establishing a classroom environment that promotes pro-social student behavior and reduces inappropriate student behavior.
  • Share how you, as the teacher, will demonstrate by example skills and techniques that establish a respectful environment make it up.
