The Diane Allen Equal Pay Act would affect me as a HR professional in that I would have to start reviewing all employees’ pay. The Act states that employers can be held liable for every pay check that is under paid for up to the past six years (Levy, 2018). As an HR person, I would have start comparing similar jobs that employees perform and see if the pays are equal. If they are not equal, I would have to research why that is and make sure that it falls under the bona fide reasons of the law. If it does not, I would inform my employer so that the company can start making it right.
