Essay 3 will be a short essay, only three or four paragraphs. Let's practice all we have been learning about
writing a literary argument. Make sure you have a fully developed intro that includes the title of the work, the
name of the play and a brief overview of the work. Then end your intro with a clear, debatable claim (thesis)
about an aspect of the play. The body paragraph(s) should begin with a topic sentence that advances your
thesis. What is the reason you believe your thesis is true? Then provide textual evidence (quote, framed and
cited). Remember to develop ideas by using the "This Shows That" strategy we learned. The conclusion can
echo the thesis but should come to some deeper understanding or connection to leave the reader to think
about.
• Be sure to include a Works Cited page (even though there will only be one citation).
• No outside sources will be used for this assignment. Only use one of the plays as a source and your own
analysis
