Context: We began the semester by exploring potential topics. Since you have all decided which topics you will be writing on for the remainder of the semester, it is now time to apply some of what we have been discussing in class to your chosen topics.
Assignment: Using the criteria we developed as a class (see Week 4's Jamboard), evaluate whether a specific topic from your theme is being covered by popular media in an effective fashion. Remember: the main goal of an evaluation is to pass judgment on a given subject/text based on a set of criteria. Your goal for this assignment is to judge whether a popular media source (news/magazines/online sources) is effectively covering your topic.
