Evaluation points for teachers.

I chose these two evaluation points because they are both directly related to the teacher's ability to improve student learning. By evaluating teachers on these two areas, we can get a better sense of their effectiveness and make sure that they are receiving the support they need to improve.

The two articles posted this week about implementing teacher evaluation and follow-up training make a number of points that are relevant to these two evaluation points. First, they emphasize the importance of using multiple measures of teacher effectiveness, rather than relying on a single measure such as student test scores. Second, they stress the importance of providing teachers with feedback on their performance, and of using that feedback to inform professional development.

To support teachers through professional development on these specific evaluation points, I would provide them with opportunities to learn about effective instructional planning and delivery, assessment and feedback, and data-driven decision making. I would also provide them with opportunities to practice these skills in a safe and supportive environment.

In addition, I would work with teachers to develop their own professional learning plans. These plans would be tailored to the individual teacher's needs and goals. I would also provide teachers with access to resources such as books, articles, and websites on these topics.

By providing teachers with the support they need, we can help them to improve their instructional practices and ultimately improve student learning.
