Existence of racism, classism, homophobia, prejudice, or privilege

Describe an event in your life that awakened you to the existence of racism, classism, homophobia, prejudice, or privilege and that caused you to experience – as either a beneficiary or a victim – the phenomenon of “being different.” Think of a time when you were acutely aware of the existence of racism, classism, homophobia, prejudice, or privilege based on differences in race, ethnicity, class, gender, physical appearance, ability, or sexual orientation.
Using techniques of story, such as sensory detail and dialogue, narrate your moment in time so that your audience can experience what you experienced. Conclude your paper by reflecting on what you learned from your experience and how your experience can help you to be more culturally aware and inclusive when working across cultures or groups.
